There are moments in life once you open your eyes it seems a mess and wrong. It’s because you missed a chance or that "one in a lifetime" was gone. Your comfort zone and the happiness allotted were killed by a wrong timing scenario. This is basically the overview of the film. Time plays so terrible when it comes to life, especially in love sometimes.

She’s Dating the Gangster is a well-known story from Wattpad written by Bianca Bernardino and later on adapted in big screen which is directed by a prestigious Director of all time, Cathy Garcia Molina. Direct Cathy was also the director of the known movie such as One More Chance of Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz and Seven Sundays which gives us a heart realization love about family. These movies were hit a blockbuster in time period. The film (she’s dating the gangster) was leading by the one of the most popular love team in the Philippines, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. The couple also plays the role of Mia/Celine and Ely in Barcelona: A Love Untold who improve their skills on acting as we can see in the film. The actors and actress who become part of this never failed the viewers as they give off their best in portraying their roles. Eventually, the film was taken in Legaspi, Albay which become a good setting for the story. In comparison, the story from the book (or in Wattpad) and movie itself was totally have a huge difference. Despite of that, the concept and message were still conveyed and there.

Anyways, the main focus of this review is the movie adaptation of the book and the three love lessons you later learned after watching. The Film splits into two period the present time and the past time (90’s to be exact) where Kenji (Kenji delos Reyes) wants to get her Athena (Athena Abigail) back but to do that the second Athena (Athena Dizon) should pretend as his girlfriend to make Abby jealous. At first, Athena does not like the idea because she knows her limitation. She hated Kenji at their first meeting but when Kenji threaten Athena that he will end his life, immediately she agreed the deal. Later on, the pretending relationship was ended into being real.  They suddenly love each other deeply. They both shared happy moments and it is totally become the memorable part of their love story. The old Kenji (he was a gangster at the beginning) was gone because Athena Dizon changed his life, his great love becomes the part of his changes. Until the day came, when Abby needs Kenji by her side in facing cancer but to think Athena also have a weak heart. He chooses Abby over Athena even though it is hard for him because Abby's mother begged him to love her again like before. That’s why Kenneth, Kenji’s son in the movie doesn’t feel the love of his father to them because he thinks his father can’t get over Athena. In the other side, before Athena leave the world Kelay, her niece wants to continue or to see each other before it’s too late. 

The movie also taught some love lessons which as follows:

         1. Love covers sacrifices. This scene was the moment when Abby is in the hospital and she need Kenji to her life. Her mother begs Kenji to love her daughter again as before to keep her continue the treatment for Gastric Cancer (stage 3). So then, Athena sacrifice her relationship with Kenji to make Abby have him for the rest of her life. This gives us a very heartbreaking moment to think that you can sacrifice your own happiness just to make the other person receive the true happiness.

         2. Able to love even your heart is weak. This proves that Athena Dizon’s love is for everlasting. She has a heart disease (Dilated Cardiomyopathy) which makes her heart become literally weak. She unable to breathe normally sometimes because of being exhaustion, strong emotion or excitement or being in smoky places. Her doctor suggested that she can stay home for a prevention and she already concluded that normal life of a teenager was not destined for her because of her sick. Her father also wants their relationship was ended but Athena tells her dad that fear will her not love. So, she never sees this as a hindrance from loving Kenji until her last breath. Thus, love gives her the motivation and the biggest reason why she is still alive fighting with heart disease.


         3. You need to wait longer enough to see your true love--again. Their love story was totally a big case of bad timing in their teen years. But with the help of Kenneth and Kelay they see each other again for one last time. Athena died in Kenji’s arm, happy. Her heart doesn’t give up all the years back because It wait that this day will happen. She able to feel the best part of her life, being in her special someone’s side. And that makes my heart breaks too in both the novel and movie. In life realization, at first there is always a someone who will love you whether you know it or not. There’s a someone that is ready to wait longer for his/her happiness came back. And that time, no bad timing will show because time deals with destiny to have a happy ending although it is a tragic.

Maybe this is Bianca Bernardino wants, to make the viewer or reader feels the hardest part of falling in love. To live the love in its worst. To live the love when loves becomes part of the others story.


To rate it from 1 to 5, 5 is the highest I would rate the film into 4. Basically, the story from the Wattpad is better than the movie itself (well it is just for me). If when you find the movie is great then the novel is a raw for its greatness. Their some scenes to be contrast so, I use it for my basis. The ending was supposedly a tragic which uplift the emotion of the viewers like the book. But what I prefer most is the sequence and attachment of the past and present scenes. There are lovely comparison and flow of scenes. The entertainment value is not very transparent because it’s probably a drama so there’s nothing to put a laugh on. And I would recommend this for you to watch (and read the novel as well).

Chicken Star was first originated in Bangkok which made its first franchise in Quezon City recently on May this year. It was owned according to some sources by Pianne Tobiano who leave her online business about dog care. The owner was a dog lover but she also listed chicken as her favorite cooked. This makes an additional option for the mass in buying chicken. It only cost 199 pesos for the whole chicken which is enough for barkada and family. Investment are now open for all the person who are willing to take a business as their primary source of income. So, franchise are seen all over the country photos are shown below:

I suddenly rejoice when this outlet comes. I am a super fan of chicken food so then I realized why not to try Chicken Star. Every fast food outlet I often ordered their chicken but I am looking for a new taste. Me and my friends decided to bring dine the food because some feed back can really attach our interest. They said it serves hot which is usual because it is from the grilled, we heard also that it has a unique taste which makes you satisfied and totally worth to spend with. That's great because it is proven with my savor.


The outlet is just easy to find even you are driving and suddenly crave for it because it is found usually along the highway. Don't expect too much about the area knowing that it is not restaurant which you can rest for a while or breathe some air conditioner air. Thus, seats sometimes are located in front of it which become the waiting area. Unlike the other franchise in the other country if you search for it in the net, they serves only the common menu which is the friend and grilled chicken of course. But also they allowed to serve it with rice and it is totally a swak to eat.


The taste was good and it is juicy in bite. For me, no need to add gravy for additional flavor. Disregard the place but no doubt when it come in cleanliness and safety. Server use a clean tools in preparing order for assurance that it is safety without any issues relevant. What I hate most is there service. Although the fact that the staff are friendly and approachable in customers but they are too slow when it comes in preparing. Maybe the staffs are not used too so I understood it for the first time I bought. Hopefully from my next visit they will improve their skills in working.


It was great for everyone that Chicken Star already have their investment here. It was good that hopefully another delightful food open so people could enjoy more eating. Chicken also gives multiple nutrients into our body but only limit yourself from eating it so. I rate it 4 stars for its good in taste, juiciness and savoring smell. This may become my favorite for now. Hope you could try it too for you to know what I am saying for.

         To sum up the article, it is an overview about the tour of the writer. He stated the beautiful sceneries that is waiting to visit when you get there. It can feed your mind for its history and soul-awakening experience. The young and young at heart will have a grand time in Zoo-Topia and Samsung Everland Theme park to save boredom. In addition, culture-lovers must enjoy Everland's Ho-Am art museum for its Korea's private collections. This museum features all the works of some of the country's most revered painters. In travelling time duration, you can travel 3 hours and 45 minutes across the pacific ocean of the Philippines.

            The grammar is good and easy to understand unlike the other it contains more unfamiliar words prior for a person who aren’t often reads an articles. It gives a bit details about the country which adds an interesting rate about the topic. It makes the readers' interest high in the flow of the article. Simplicity is transparent which includes in overall rate of the styles in writing. I like most the delivery of words it seems you feel the presence of Korea in your seat. The collaboration of the destination was good and it can recall and well appreciated because everything sent to be considered. From any age you have place which you can enjoy the whole places. But come to think that being a tourist requires an expenses because it is too expensive for an individual to have a chance to visit a country like Korea. Mostly, teens nowadays want to see their "OPPA" or "BIAS" (if I'm not mistaken) from any band they admire too. There are different reason for them to hope that one day I'll be in Korea even just for a short term of time. Through this article you can add to your list all the destination stated so you can strive more for the day of travelling.

Guy de Maupassant is French short story writer and also a great novel writer. According to the sources, out of 200 short stories 6 of it was a short novel. His works focuses a lot in ordinary life in Paris that’s why most of the used names and places are complicated in terms of reading. Every story has a lesson that you need to considered or should be realize after. Short story is an alternative and quickest way of reading because it takes you only one sitting to finished the story. Although most of them does not prefer to read one of it in the reasons the details are not precise comparing to a novel. One of some examples work of Maupassant was a short story also entitled The Necklace. It is already translated in Tagalog for an easy understanding and also conveys life realization lessons.

Plot

But at this point, one of his work also, A Father’s Confession is being review. This story is about a father’s confession and it should be open after his coffin had been placed in the ground. He already instructs that his children and son in law are allowed to know his confession. In fact, the title itself gives someone an uplift curiosity what does the father want to confess, if you feel that too then the feeling was mutual. To make the story even short, I’ll give you the overview of the confession. The father was known for his being an honest man in all the known acts of his life, in his words, in his examples, his attitude, his behavior, his enterprises, in the cut of his beard and the shape of his hats. But when he was at the age of 26, he committed a crime unaware to the knowledge of the others. It is started when he met a woman in a bar at Paris under a cold night. They shared a night of attraction which resulted later on a child in her womb but the father dislikes it and hoping that he was not born. What happened is opposes from what he wants, so he decided to marry the woman because he said he loves her. But it is only to bring the child legally under his name. Unintentionally, the woman died in an accident so he was unwanted left by with his child. Because of overthinking what will other people said, after a night of a long drive, he decided to kill his son. He heartlessly, enter his room and uncover the child then open the window which cold winds trembles the room. They remain in that position until he decided to close the window because he already feels the cold in the legs of the child. He hopelessly wants his son to die but at that moment he was wrong. The baby in the crib silently breathing although cough was starting to torture his breathe. The father called a doctor but after, the he did nothing. The baby stayed in that situation until 10 days ago the he did not survive. After reading that confession they burn the paper so that it will remain the secrets between them.

Critical Analysis

Well that’s the point of the story. You can’t keep a secret forever. As I read the confession at the first time I was shocked and humiliated for the father’s terrible action. If he truly loves the mother of that child, he shouldn’t do that thing that will carry his guilt and conscience in living. I hate him in what he did, honestly. He has no sympathy, imagine killing an innocent child, right? To have a contrast nowadays, teenage men become irresponsible when they get a woman pregnant. Some excuses are lame of course, but it doesn’t mean you need to do such the father did. I still feel annoyed in his (the father) action, I feel pity towards the kid. It breaks my  heart when I am reading those part. 

I prefer most of the time reading so I rate it in 5 stars, excellent. The story has its own uniqueness it may be short because of the idea that it is only a short story, but it gives and conveys the messages of the story carefully. The author uses a good tone of writing because few words for me are unfamiliar in terms. Obviously, the moral of the story is, secrets are always having its way to be free even how secure it is to hide. So, I would recommend this for you to read it.
